Type

The type determines the general design of the wipers.

Frame. The frame is a system of rocker arms and hinges that gives the wiper its characteristic appearance. The main advantage of models of this type is versatility: an elastic frame allows the wiper to adapt to almost any curvature of the glass. At the same time, such products are inexpensive. On the other hand, they do not tolerate temperatures below zero: even in the "winter" model, the frame can freeze and lose elasticity, which leads to poor efficiency and the appearance of streaks on the glass. This is especially true for inexpensive wipers.

Frameless. Wipers that do not have the frame described above. The basis of the design is usually metal plates enclosed in a one-piece rubber-plastic case. This design makes the wiper practically insensitive to icing (in fact, frost resistance depends only on the materials of the blade in contact with the glass). In addition, the body can be given an aerodynamic shape, and frameless wipers are not as noisy as frameless ones. Their main disadvantage, in addition to the higher cost, is that the metal base is made for a specific glass curvature, and such wipers can only be used on those car models for which they were originally designed.

Hybrid. Externally, hybrid wipers are similar to frameless ones, but inside the body there is a system that...works on the same principles as a conventional frame (see above). Due to this, the advantages of both types are combined in one product: on the one hand, frost resistance and aerodynamics, on the other hand, the ability to “adapt” to glasses of different curvature. The main drawback of hybrid models is a rather impressive cost (which, however, is often due not only to the complexity of the design, but also to the use of fairly advanced and durable materials).

— Elastic. Replacement rubber blades for windscreen wipers. The ability to replace the "gum" is provided in many models of wipers: the blades wear out much faster than the base, and replacing them is much cheaper than buying a new wiper. In addition, in this way, in some cleaners, you can also change seasonality.

Mount

Mounting type used by the wiper. Detailed data on the design and operation of different types of fasteners can be found in special sources. Here we note a few key points.

Firstly, many automakers use different fasteners in different car models, and even the same type of fasteners can have varieties (available in several sizes). Secondly, there are adapters between different types; however, they should only be used in the most extreme cases, since the effectiveness of the wipers is usually reduced with this installation. Thirdly, some wiper models are initially equipped with universal adapters; such mounts are more effective than third-party adapters, but are more difficult to install than “native” ones, and still do not provide the same high-quality work.

Now on the market there are such types of mounts: Bayonet, Hook(main size 9x4), Hook 8x3, Hook 9x3, Hook 12x4, Pinch tab, Push button(main size 19mm), Narrow Push button (16mm), Wide Push button (22mm), Side pin(main size 22mm), Side pin (17mm), Top lock, Claw (Claw),...Pin Lock, Side Mounting, Сover Lock (MBTL1.1/GWB045), Cap Lock (VATL5.1/GWB046), Guide Lock (DNTL1.1/GWB044).
