Power source

- Net. Powered by a 220 V household network. Such a tool can have almost any power, while it costs less and weighs less than a similar battery-powered one. On the other hand, freedom of movement when working with such devices is limited by the availability of sockets and the length of the power cord and existing extension cords, and the cord itself can create inconvenience.

Battery. The presence of a battery allows you to avoid many problems - when moving to another part of the room, you no longer have to switch the wire. In addition, you can use the tool in places where there is no power supply at all - for example, at the remote end of a summer cottage. At the same time, with equal power, such models are much heavier and more expensive than mains-powered tools, and the battery life is limited - when the charge is depleted, the battery will have to be recharged or replaced with a fresh one.

There are also sets in which a networked tool (mostly high-power for serious work) is supplemented with some kind of battery device (mostly a drill-driver). But there are only a few such sets ( networked devices with batteries).

Set of devices

A set of devices may contain a drill driver, drill, screwdriver, wrench, perforator, reciprocating saw, circular saw, electric jigsaw, angle grinder (grinder), eccentric grinder, wall grinder, concrete grinder, delta grinder, vibration grinder, renovator, engraver, multi-tool, vacuum cleaner, flashlight, radio receiver and other additional components. More about each.

Drill driver. Tools that combine the functionality of a drill and a screwdriver. Such "hybrid" devices are extremely popular nowadays due to their versatility. Switching between drilling and twisting modes in them is carried out by replacing the cartridge, and also, in most models, by adjusting the torque. At the same time, it should be noted that compared to traditional drills, t...he efficiency of such units when drilling is rather low, they are not intended for high loads, hard materials and large drilling diameters. This is due to the fact that in order to achieve high power, it would be necessary to increase the dimensions and weight, which would significantly complicate the use in the format of a screwdriver.

Drill. Traditional drills are power tools for drilling holes in various materials. By specialization and “weight category”, such tools range from miniature cordless models to heavy professional diamond drilling units. Anyway, drills are equipped with chucks for installing drills, as well as engines designed for significant resistance during operation. Also note that many of these units have an impact mode, but the drill is still not able to replace a full-fledged rotary hammer.

Screwdriver. In fact, it is an electric (or pneumatic) analogue of a manual screwdriver. It is used primarily for tightening and loosening screws, screws and other similar fasteners using bits — interchangeable nozzles, the shape of which imitates various screwdriver tips (straight, cross-shaped, etc.).

Screwdriver. A kind of electric and pneumatic analogues of socket wrenches: tools designed to work with nuts and other similar fasteners (for example, bolts with heads without a slot). Nutrunners are in many ways similar to the screwdrivers described above and differ mainly in the type of cartridge — usually it is a square for sockets of different sizes.

Perforator. Device for drilling and chiselling in the wall. It can be used in cases where the drill does not cope with the task. Those. for drilling in concrete, chasing for wiring or making large diameter through holes.

Reciprocating saw. A variety of saws, also called "electronic saws". According to the key principle of operation, they are similar to ordinary saws: the blade of such a saw moves back and forth during operation. One of the key advantages of reciprocating saws is their compactness, which allows them to be used in tight spaces where there is not enough space for a circular saw or chain saw. At the same time, interchangeable canvases are quite versatile, they are produced for different materials: wood, metal, concrete, stone. And some canvases allow you to make accurate cuts even in a combined material — for example, a roof that combines wood, roofing material and metal.

Circular saw. Also, this variety is called "circular". As the name implies, the working element in such saws is a rotating blade with teeth (for wood) or a diamond abrasive coating (for stone, glass and other special materials). It allows you to make straight cuts quickly and easily, but the depth of cut is limited by the radius of the blade.

Electric jigsaw. A power tool designed primarily for shape cutting. The compact dimensions and thin saw blade allow cutting at any angle to the workpiece.

Angle grinder (grinder). A tool in which the drive axle and the spindle with the working nozzle are located at an angle of 90 degrees and are connected through a gearbox. The working tool is a grinding wheel. Angle grinders are used for grinding, polishing, roughing and cleaning of metal, concrete, brick, cement, marble and granite products. Design features also allow the use of such a tool for cutting metal and cleaning welds.

Eccentric vibrating. In eccentric grinders, the working tool (sanding sheet) performs two movements simultaneously: rotational and vibrating. Due to this, high quality processing is achieved with good performance. These machines are well suited when a large amount of material has to be removed during fine finishing work.

Wall grinder. A specific feature of most wall grinders is an elongated design that includes a characteristic shaft. This allows you to grab a large section of the wall without moving from your place, as well as work at high heights without using stools or other similar supports. However, wall grinding models are produced without a rod. Such devices, usually, are a slightly modified version of the angle machines described above. Of the differences, in addition to the use of a rod, one can also mention the method of attaching the working nozzle — it is installed on Hook-and-loop or other similar devices, similar to how it is done in an eccentric tool.

Grinder for concrete. Most stone/concrete grinders are similar in design to angle grinders, although there are other variations. Anyway, such tools are quite powerful, and their design is designed for long-term operation in difficult conditions: for example, overload protection is often found, a system for supplying water to the place of work, etc. can be provided.

Vibratory grinder. Orbital sanders use a vibrating sanding sheet driven by an eccentric on the motor shaft. With a relatively low productivity, such a scheme provides high accuracy and quality of processing. Vibration grinders are used for fine finishing of flat surfaces.

Delta grinder. In fact, they are a kind of vibration grinders, but differ from them in the shape of the sanding sheet: it is triangular, resembling the Greek letter “delta” in shape (hence the name). Due to this, as well as their small size, these machines are well suited for working in hard-to-reach and difficult places, such as corners, edges, curves, etc.

Renovator. A specific type of hand tool, which is closest in design to grinders. The key difference is the principle of operation: the nozzle of the renovator does not rotate during operation, but vibrates finely at a high frequency. The variety of nozzles themselves is very large, which allows you to perform a wide range of work: grinding, cleaning, cutting, sawing, etc. Most of these models, however, lose out to specialized units like power saws or electric jigsaws, however, with relatively simple work of a small volume, the renovator may well replace several tools at once. In addition, such tools can be useful in difficult cramped conditions, and the accuracy and accuracy of processing is often higher than when using the same saws.

Engraver. A tool designed primarily for engraving. However, engravers can also be used for other types of work — drilling, cutting, grinding, etc. In fact, they are hybrids of drills and grinders with low power and compact dimensions (both the tool itself and the working nozzles).

Multitool. The design of the multi-tool includes the main unit and several removable heads, by changing which you can turn the tool into a drill, renovator, jigsaw, etc. On the one hand, it is convenient — it is easier to carry one universal unit with you than several specialized ones, despite the fact that the power and performance of such devices can be quite high. On the other hand, the mentioned versatility is rarely required in fact, and the tools themselves are expensive. As a result, it is often easier to purchase individual specialized models than to shell out a "round sum" for a multitool or look for additional interchangeable heads that are not sold everywhere.

Vacuum cleaner. The presence of a vacuum cleaner suitable for construction work. Accordingly, such a device has additional adapters for high-quality connection to the rest of the kit. And in the case of a battery kit, it also runs on the same battery as the rest of the kit.

— Flashlight. A lighting fixture suitable for construction work and more. A feature is the ability to work from the same battery as other devices in the kit.

Radio receiver. A classic construction receiver with a high degree of protection and a powerful sound that can “scream over” a conventional perforator.

There is no limit to the variety of kits and there may be glue guns, heat guns and other equipment.

Additionally included

Additional kit may include:

— Charger. A regular charger with the necessary characteristics is designed for high-quality and proper charging of complete batteries. Included in almost all battery packs. The exceptions are small sets of low-power devices, which are more like an addition to the already existing power tools of the master.

— Case. Cases are containers made of rigid materials. Outwardly, the classic case resembles a suitcase, has a small height, when opened, it unfolds lengthwise into two halves, and the carrying handle, which is an indispensable element of the case design, is located on the side end. Thanks to this position of the handle and the flat shape, the cases are very convenient to carry in the hands, this option is preferred by many craftsmen who often have to move from place to place. Among the shortcomings of such models, one can only note the unsuitability for a large-sized tool — due to the mentioned small thickness.

— Box. Boxes are containers also made of rigid material, usually rectangular in shape, in which the bottom and 4 walls form an integral structure, and the lid (removable or folding) is located on top and is fixed with special locks. Boxes are mainly intended for storing tools in one place and carrying them over short distances (within the workshop or between the storage place and the machine); although most of these products are equipped with handles, they are not as convenient for long-term transportation in...the hands as cases. But of the advantages of the boxes, it is worth mentioning a good capacity and fairly reliable protection of the instrument from contact with surrounding objects and adverse effects (dust and moisture).

— A bag. Outwardly, tool bags tend to look like regular sports bags — most of them have a characteristic pair of handles and a shoulder strap. Such products combine the advantages of boxes and cases: on the one hand, they are quite roomy and suitable even for large items, on the other hand, they are easy to carry and much better than boxes, they are suitable for frequent movements on foot or by public transport. The main disadvantage of bags is that they are made of soft fabric, which is poorly suited for carrying heavy tools and does not provide the same degree of protection as metal or plastic. However, many models provide a built-in rigid frame that corrects the situation.
