Massage

Roller. Massage is carried out using specialized rollers designed to replicate the fingertips and the various hand movements of a professional massage therapist. Advanced massage chairs offer the flexibility to adjust the rollers' length and their movements in terms of vertical, horizontal, and depth. These rollers can target different areas of the user's body, such as those working from the torso to the buttocks, focusing on the hips, or specifically designed for the feet.

Air compression. Massage is achieved through the inflation and deflation of air cushions, synchronized with a predefined program. This compression technique simulates the effects of acupressure, targeting different body areas. Air-compression pillows can be applied to various body regions. In advanced chair models, there may be up to 50 pillows that can massage the entire body, from head to toe. Air compression massage is often combined with other massage types like rolling and vibration. This method has proven effective in preventing swelling in different body parts and can also aid in combating insomnia and improving mood.

Point. Massage is performed using specialized mats containing pointed elements, a technique commonly referred to as Shiatsu or acupressure. This method is believed to target specific bioactive points, activating and stimulating energy processes within the...body. Many acupressure techniques are considered therapeutic, so it's important to exercise caution when using acupressure programs. Acupressure is thought to be effective in alleviating muscle pain, inducing relaxation, and providing both toning and soothing effects.

Vibromassage. Massage is performed using vibration motors distributed throughout the massage chair's surface. In advanced models, there are typically 10-15 vibration motors capable of targeting nearly every part of the body. Vibrations stimulate the skin, subcutaneous tissues, internal organs, and muscles. Vibration massage can provide effective pain relief, improve blood circulation, and aid in recovery from injuries and surgeries. In the realm of conventional medicine, vibrational massage is recommended for treating conditions like pneumonia and mild inflammation, as well as for preventing asthma and chronic gastritis.

Magnetotherapy. Massage chairs are fitted with low-frequency magnetic field generators that induce a magnetic field within the user's body, addressing potential deficiencies. Typically, these magnets are positioned in the leg area, and some models even feature needle magnets in the calves and feet, offering an additional acupuncture-like effect. Magnet therapy has a favorable impact on enhancing the body's regenerative capacities, accelerating the healing process for wounds, bruises, and injuries. The application of low-frequency field magnets also contributes to stabilizing blood pressure.

Types of massage

3D massage. The chair features a swivel mechanism that gently moves the user from side to side, replicating the experience of a comprehensive massage session. This is commonly referred to as 3D massage, known for its ability to provide a deeper effect. When the 3D mode is engaged, multiple massage programs can operate simultaneously, enhancing the overall massage experience.

Relaxing. A massage method aimed at achieving profound and enduring relaxation, the relaxing massage effectively alleviates muscle tension to the fullest extent. Typically administered before bedtime, it aids individuals in preparing for a profound and restful sleep, even if they experience insomnia or other sleep-related issues.

Anti-cellulite. This massage method targets the reduction of cellulite, often referred to as the "orange peel" effect. It employs vibration and massage roller techniques, primarily focusing on the buttocks and thighs. Anti-cellulite massage is typically not recommended for frequent use, as the body needs time to adapt. To maximize its effectiveness, it should be performed with intervals of 3-4 days, as frequent sessions can diminish its impact.

Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a form of acupressure that concentrates on stimulating specific bioactive points. Typically, it involves using a specialized mat with pointed...elements that target the relevant areas of the body. Shiatsu is primarily aimed at replenishing one's energy reserves, enabling a rapid and effective restoration of balance in mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Stretching. Spinal stretching is a massage method designed to realign the spinal discs, a crucial step in preventing conditions like scoliosis, kyphosis, and other back-related ailments. This technique involves securing the legs with air-compression pillows while the chair's back gently tilts to either side. During these movements, a roller provides additional massage to the back. Spinal stretching is particularly beneficial for individuals with predominantly sedentary lifestyle.

Rubbing. This is a variation of roller massage where the rollers don't roll over the skin but instead gently lift and manipulate the skin in the targeted area. This technique, known as rubbing, enhances blood circulation in the treated body area, which can aid in the reduction of scars and various growths. Rubbing provides a more intense effect compared to traditional rolling massage.

Kneading. Another variation of roller massage is kneading, which resembles the warming up of muscles before physical activity, making it particularly beneficial for athletes and those with active lifestyles. This technique can help users recover quickly after strenuous workouts or labor-intensive tasks. Performing a kneading massage in the morning can alleviate muscle soreness from growth. It's worth noting that different massage chair models offer kneading for various body areas; some focus on the neck and shoulders, others on the back, and some on the buttocks and thighs. Advanced chair models even allow kneading in multiple areas simultaneously.

Tapping. This is a type of air-compression massage where air cushions replicate the tapping and patting motions commonly performed by professional massage therapists. This feature is effective in preventing back-related issues and can strengthen both the spinal column and ribs. A massage chair with tapping capability is particularly beneficial for individuals who experience significant back strain, such as overweight individuals, athletes, and drivers. Tapping can complement other massage techniques, amplifying their effectiveness.

Functions

Manual mode. The chair offers the flexibility to create customized massage programs. Users have the option to select specific massage techniques, arrange them in a preferred order, and adjust various parameters like intensity, frequency, and duration. This manual mode allows for the creation of personalized massage routines for each family member. For instance, spouses can tailor massage sessions to their individual preferences and save them in the chair's memory.

Zero gravity mode. The Zero G feature positions the body in a unique way, reducing the strain on the spine. This state of "zero gravity" is achieved at a 40° body tilt, with the torso fully stretched, and the feet and head slightly elevated. This function enhances the effectiveness and longevity of massage sessions by providing a deeper and more enduring impact. Zero gravity is accomplished through a specialized reclining mechanism for the chair's backrest and footrest. It can also include vibrations and air compression to simulate a sensation akin to free fall or flight.

Musical massage. The chair's mechanisms synchronize with the user's preferred music tempo. This massage chair comes with a built-in audio system. Simply connect an MP3 player or smartphone to the chair's connector and play your favorite music. Your massage session will then adjust its rhythm to match the music. Alterna...tively, you can just enjoy listening to music. Typically, these "musical" massage chairs are equipped with a high-quality stereo system, and some models even have a headphone jack and support for external speakers.

Heating. The chair includes a heating feature for its surface. This heated massage chair can warm the entire seating area (legs, buttocks, and back) or specific regions, depending on the user's preference. It's important to note that there are two heating methods: some chairs use a heating carbon plate, while others employ infrared heating. Both options contribute to a comprehensive therapeutic massage experience. Heating the back and lower back serves as a preventive and therapeutic measure for conditions like sciatica and various other back diseases.

Adjustment of massage rollers. The chair offers precise customization of the roller mechanism's operation. Users can tailor the length, width, and depth of the rollers to match their body type. In advanced massage chair models, it's even possible to fine-tune the intensity of the roller massage. Premium chairs go a step further by allowing users to adjust the roller width, offering the choice of small, medium, or large diameter rollers. This feature enables the creation of unique and highly effective massage programs tailored to specific areas of the body for preventive care.

Height scan. The massage chair has the capability to assess the user's body composition to enhance the precision of massaging specific problem areas. This is achieved through an optical observation system known as a scanner. Typically, this scanning function is coupled with the ability to detect tense areas and determine the user's positioning within the chair, ensuring the massage mechanism operates correctly. This feature is particularly valuable when multiple family members use the chair, as it automatically adapts the massage stroke's length, width, and depth to suit each individual, greatly improving the effectiveness of massage sessions.

Timer. The chair allows users to schedule their massage sessions according to their available time and massage quality preferences. During chair setup, users can specify the duration of their massage based on their break schedule or relaxation needs. This timer function is particularly valuable for office massage chairs, helping users make the most of their available break time by ensuring the massage fits within it. Additionally, vending machine models of massage chairs come equipped with timers as a standard feature.

MP3 player. The massage chair has a fully functional audio system. These are equipped with built-in memory, DAC, amplifier and external acoustics. Some models additionally have a headphone output and external acoustics. The presence of an MP3 player in the chair allows you to enjoy listening to your favorite music during massage sessions. Many models with an MP3 player have a musical massage function, when the massage programme adjusts to the rhythm of the music being played.

Smartphone control. Allows you to make settings and switch modes from your phone through a compatible application. A convenient opportunity, given that most people do not part with the gadget even during a massage session.

Voice control. Ability to set commands for switching settings and massage mode by voice. In moments of relaxation, it is not always convenient to adjust the buttons, especially since in most cases they are not accessible to your eyes and switching occurs at random.

Remote control. The ability to remotely control the operating modes of the massage chair. The presence of the remote control allows you to fully concentrate on the massage session. For example, when performing a "3D massage", the chair can turn the user on its side. From this position, it can be problematic to get to the keypad.

Demo mode. A brief assessment of the chair's capabilities is conducted through a demo mode, typically lasting 2-3 minutes. In this short timeframe, the chair effectively showcases all its actuators, massage techniques, and features. This demonstration mode is especially important for vending massage chairs, as buyers often prefer to witness the chair's capabilities before selecting and ordering specific massage modes they prefer.

Bill acceptor. Having a built-in scanner and money storage feature in the chair is of utmost importance, especially in commercial vending models of massage chairs. The bill acceptor facilitates automated business operations, eliminating the need for hiring equipment administrators, as the chair autonomously handles money collection and massage mode activation. It's essential to consider the type of bill acceptor; some models include a combined bill and coin acceptor. Additionally, some money storage systems can provide change in both coins and bills.

USB port for charging. The presence of a USB connector (one or more) for charging various equipment. Most modern smartphones and other devices can be charged from USB. So a massage session can benefit you and your gadget by recharging it.
