SIZES: 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g, 6g Our original No1 Alloy Avon has become a big success with anglers all over the UK and abroad but there are times when the tops of the floats can be a little too big and buoyant. This new No2 model has been developed with species like roach, dace and chub in mind and all five sizes feature long alloy stems and smaller diameter, tapered tops. The reason for this taper is to allow the angler to shot the float well down when a bulk rig as well as a reasonable amount of sensitivity is required. The shouldered design allows the angler to hold back quite hard in strong flow.

My general rule of thumb for this sort of fishing is to use a DH In-Line olivette – 1g for every three feet of water. A swim that is around twelve feet deep should therefore be tackled with a 4g float. The hollow tips of these floats allows for easy visibility at distance.

This is also a great float for use with long whips, a style of fishing that has become very popular on a variety of venues in recent times.

They're designed for use in medium flowing water in depths up to around twelve feet and I use them with a strung out shotting pattern using equally spread No4 shot with a No6 just above the hooklength and a No8 on it.

SIZES: 2No4, 3No4, 4No4, 5No4, 6No4, 7No4, 8No4 This brand new, unique design features a 2mm aluminium heavy base and a much slimmer body profile than the No2 model. We field-tested many prototypes of this float on rivers like the Trent and Severn before we got the body and stem lengths perfectly matched. Best used with a strung out shotting pattern, using No8 or No6 shots all the way up the line to within a few inches of the float base. Done this way, casting is effortless and the heavy base makes control easy.

SIZES: 4g, 6g, 8g, 10g This pattern takes over where the No2 Bolo leaves off. It has a thicker hollow bristle and the shape of the float allows it to be held back hard and easily controlled in very strong current. This float works especially well in depths from six to fifteen feet and should be fished with DH In-Line olivette. This is fixed around two to three feet from the hook with a No4 or No1 drop shot on the hooklength.
