AXIS 30 W Midspan AC/DCN/AN/AAXIS 30 W Midspan AC/DC is ideal for installations where mains power is not an option. With a power input of either 10-28 V DC or 24 V AC it can deliver up to IEEE 802.3at (30 W) to your network device. AXIS 30 W Midspan AC/DC is plug-and-play and compatible with all Axis PoE devices which require up to 30 W power. 24 V AC can be needed in harsh environments where new cabling or installations are not possible and you need to retrofit box dome or PTZ cameras. 10-28 V DC can be used where battery back-up is needed or for solar-powered installations. Or when the network device is built in another equipment and is powered directly from it for example in an ATM.

Ethernet has a limited cable length between the switch and the camera of 100m (328 ft.). When needed to cover a longer distance a switch is normally used as a repeater or optical fiber may be used.

To overcome this distance limit network installers can simply connect an AXIS T8129 PoE Extender in-line with the Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable and forward the rest to the camera. Dependent on midspan and camera type the connection in total can be between 200-400 meters (656-1312 ft.).

AXIS T8144 60 W Industrial Midspan is an industrial grade 1-port midspan offering an easy fast and cost-effective solution for powering network products. With a wide operating temperature from -40 C to 75 C (-40 F to 167 F) AXIS T8144 is robust in harsh environments. A typical configuration would be to enable PoE to a non-PoE based system (switch 3G/4G router or wi-fi access point) creating a compact and effective solution.
