The maps and cards of Nothern Europe / United Kingdom and Ireland in this expansion can only be played with a copy of Power Grid. The rules of Power Grid remain the same, except for following modifications and special features of the two maps and cards contained in this expansion. This expansion includes the two maps and a few new cards. This exciting new expansion requires the base game Power Grid to play, but completely changes how you think and develop power grids throughout the new regions. With a vast variety of energy sources required, it's the perfect challenge for those looking for a way to spice up the original game. Though you'll only deal with seven countries within Northern Europe, each requires different sets of power plants. This becomes even more challenging with the introduction of 12 new power plant cards. Ireland and the United Kingdom allow you to start two separate networks. Be prepared to use new strategies on your quest to power these new areas of the world.
