Product introduction ■Product description Silencer is a high-performance noise gate that controls everything from a single pedal to an entire pedalboard. Three controls allow you to fine-tune settings to suit your system, instrument, and playing style. Threshold sets the level of the input signal at which the gate begins to take effect. Reduction adjusts the amount of attenuation of the signal level when the gate is activated. The reduction width can be set between -70dB and +4dB. Release sets the time from when the input signal level falls below the threshold until the gate closes. Release time can be set from 8ms up to 4sec. Inputs and outputs are equipped with input, output, send, and return, and are switched on/bypass with a foot switch, but the effect loop is always enabled even when the gate is on or in bypass mode (buffered bypass). This unit is powered by one 9V battery or an Electro-Harmonix JP9.6DC-200 AC adapter (9VDC center negative), sold separately. Turning clockwise increases the signal level required to open the gate. ●REDUCTION control: Adjusts the amount of signal level attenuation when the gate is activated. The reduction width can be set from -70dB (fully clockwise) to +4dB (fully counterclockwise) (you can also boost the noise as you like instead of reducing it). ●RELEASE control: Sets the time from when the input signal falls below the threshold with the gate open until the gate closes.
