Resin kits may have small parts damaged or missing. Two ships were originally being built in the Dutch East Indies as Regulus-class construction ships for the Dutch Navy, but both were captured by the invading Japanese army in 1941. One of the two ships was named ``Nanshin'' and the other ``Nankai'' and was used as a special gunboat. In July 1945, Nankai was sunk by a torpedo attack by an American submarine. The main parts of the kit are resin, and the set also includes 4 etchings and 8 brass parts.
