The Black Lion Audio Bluey 500 FET Compressor is a 500-series version of Black Lion Audios renowned Bluey limiting amplifier/compressor that has been used on countless hit recordings regarded for its unique character. Basing its design around an 1176-style compressor; the Black Lion Audio Bluey sounds great on virtually any sound source including guitars vocals and drums. Meticulously recreating the analog signal path Blue Lion Audio employed custom Cinemag transformers to deliver the same unique tonal power that made the original unit so sought after. The transformers are faithful recreations of the original design with a UTC input transformer and a Reichenbach output transformer. You can achieve everything from subtle compression to warm and gritty saturation with the wet/dry mix knobs allowing you to tap into parallel compression – something that wasnt available in the original unit. The vintage-inspired PCB layout and high-end components capture the analog warmth and grit associated with the original design complete with classic-style VU metering. It is also stereo linkable and every unit has been hand tested and calibrated to ensure optimal acoustic performance.
