The unique design makes it an elliptical ring that provides the benefit of 112 degrees top dead center after 10% (ellipticity) timing. Idle rotation in the power zone is reduced and natural pedaling in the recovery zone is possible. The wide side of the teeth has maximum contact on the drive side, distributing the load and extending chainring life. Narrow sides allow clearance for mud and debris and reduce friction.
