Lightweight and agile cross over all-mountain and touring ski. The Rise Above 88 Volkls all-mountain and touring ski built for demanding alpinists operating in high-altitude environments. The technology offered in Above 88 provides equal strength both uphill and downhill. The Above 88 weighs in at only 1190g at 170cm thanks to a Tourlite Woodcore which uses a blend of beech under the binding and poplar plus paulownia in the outer regions. This combination has a great strength-to-weight ratio, whilst maintaining a snappy character. To ensure fantastic downhill performance, Volkl has used a 3-radius sidecut R1Tall Radius R2Center-Main Radius R3Tip Radius. This combines 3 sidecuts into one to achieve an agile ski that can both hold long carves on fresh groomers and short nippy turns to navigate through tricky terrain. To help uphill efficiency, Volkl uses its Smart-Clip technology, a system that makes it easier for a rider to put on and take off a skin. Normally, a standard snap hook skin can only be attached and detached from the back of the ski, but a Smart-Clip skin can be taken off and put on at the back or the front due to its elastic snap hook. The Rise Above 88 has slight depressions in the ski tip to stop the skin from unintentionally releasing. The Rise Above 88 a lightweight, highly manoeuvrable ski for experienced, high-level riders which has a unique blend of both strong uphill and downhill performance.
