Roval Alpinist CLX II Disc Rear Wheel Building on the success and popularity of the Roval Alpinist, the Alpinist CLX II Disc Rear Wheel now offers tubeless compatibility for lower rolling resistance, greater comfort and improved puncture protection. Designed to make life easier when the road heads uphill, it is incredibly light but doesn’t sacrifice strength in its quest to fight gravity thanks to rigorous testing and the development of a special carbon layup. The hooked construction of the carbon rim allows higher pressures to be run if preferred and the widest possible choice of tubeless or tube-type tyres. In order to help make tubeless tyre installation simpler, the rim’s dimensions allow an extra 1.4mm of slack in the tyre; a feature which all riders will appreciate whether in the workshop at home or by the side of the road on a winter’s day. At 33mm deep and 21mm wide internally the profile of the rim is ideal for keeping the weight down and providing good sidewall support for modern, wider tyres, with the blunt shape still providing a decent aerodynamic advantage.  The new LFD hub is lighter than that used on the original Alpinist, with DT Swiss Ratchet EXP internals providing instant engagement when accelerating up a climb or launching an attack out of a hairpin. SINC ceramic bearings lower friction and rolling resistance whilst also being far more durable than standard steel bearings. The wheel is laced with DT Swiss’ lightest and most aerodynamic aerolite spokes for maximum performance. Includes Roval rim tape Spare spoke and nipple kit
