Laco watches has a long history in manufacturing professional pilot watches, as the traditional company was one of a handful of selected suppliers of so called observation watches in the 1940s. The Neapel features the simple type A dial, which is characterised by a large hour circle and the pilot's watch triangle at the 12 o clock position. The triangle was already used by its historical predecessors to ensure that the wearer of the watch could recognise the position of the hands at 12 with just a cursory glance, even in poor visibility and flight conditions or in stressful situations. The two dots facilitated precise setting of the time even in difficult visibility conditions.
