DCW éditions Pendant White Glass. Dimensions: L 130 x Ø 10.4 cm - Cables: L 450 cm max. - Ceiling rose: L 43.5 x W. 7 cm x H 4.2 cm. Designed to light a large dining table and niftily designed with optical illusions in mind, this light is composed of twelve glass tubes. Only one of these tubes is a light source, whilst the other tubes relay the light diffused through refraction and prisms. No wires or LEDs visible: NL 12 hence evokes a celestial beam, both radical and poetic. To forge his aesthetic style, Sebastian Summa designed a pair of metal brackets, so that it could be hung from the ceiling, resembling gymnastic apparatus and calculated precisely to perfectly balance the tube brackets. This structure adds a post-industrial touch to the piece, and denotes clear craftsmanship prowess. With a minimum length of 1.30 metres, the NL12 pendant light is composed of a dozen unattached glass tubes that can be positioned by sliding them to wherever you fancy, creating different levels or perfectly aligning them with each another. Sebastian SUMMA is a blacksmith and designer, aligning perfectly with metal-loving Bauhaus heritage. In the coarse ambiance of his East Berlin studio, this sensitive man works on delicate pieces inspired by science fiction and astronomy, moving from raw, natural spaces to sophisticated worlds.
