Until that day in 2022, when Frédéric Winkler (co-founder of DCWéditions) decided to reconsider the potential of 1980s luminaires. He had in mind this Mezzaluna, the symbol of a decade that disappeared because of outdated halogen lighting. In collaboration with Bruno Gecchelin and his son Lorenzo, also a designer, a project took shape: to re-edit Mezzaluna, adapting it to LED technology. Enthusiastic about the idea, Gecchelin father and son revised their copy, making a number of modifications and re-dimensions required by LED technology. After a few months' work, the official reissue put Mezzaluna back into orbit. Mezzaluna's design has stood the test of time without altering its laconic yet eloquent aesthetic. Mezzaluna emits a functional light, designed to illuminate an entire room. The light is fully adjustable: the base is height-adjustable and the half-moon head can be rotated.
