The Knipex 95 Series Cable Shears are fitted with multi-component grips VDE tested up to 10 000V and safe for work up to 1 0... more00V. They conform to DIN EN / IEC 60900. For cutting copper and aluminium cables without crushing or deforming as well as multiple stranded cables. Not suitable for steel wire and hard drawn copper conductors. Made from high-grade special tool steel forged oil-hardened. Chrome plated finish. Precision ground hardened blades for easy cutting one-hand operation. The handles are fited with guards that prevents operators’ fingers being pinched. It also features an adjustable bolted joint self-retaining screw.1 x Knipex VDE Cable Shears 165mmPTDKPX9516165
Knipex Professional Cable Shears VDE tested and ideal for electricians The Knipex 9516165SB (carded) Cable Shears are VDE te... morested to 1000V and measure 165mmin length. Why cable should only be cut using cable shears? Diagonal cutters are not ideal for cable cutting because their blades meet at an obtuse angle. By contrast the cable shears from Knipex cut using a scissors action. They are therefore excellent for shortening cables in house wiring work. They professionally cut for example NYM-J 3x1.5 mm or NYM-J 5x2.5 mm and all other stranded and finely stranded Cu and Al cable up to 50 mm². Due to the nature of their cutting edges the cable shears must not be used to cut hard wire however. Compared to conventional diagonal cutters thanks to the very sharp cutting edges only around one third of the physical effort is needed when using the Knipex 95 16 165 cable shears. This reduced effort substantially reduces strain for the fitter particularly when using the cable shears for prolonged periods e.g. for house wiring work. Due to a scissors action and precision ground cutting edges the user gets a clean technically perfect result after cutting cable which is the ideal condition for work steps following the shortening of cables. The bolted joint permits very easy operation. The self-locking joint bolt can be adjusted if necessary. These cable shears are particularly appreciated because they can be used to cut larger cable cross-sections. The insulating multi-component grips additionally protect the user from an electric shock during work on live parts.
