The BIRDLIME 1R is the first synthetic climbing rope made from renewable bio-based raw materials, once again making Edelrid a pioneer in responsible climbing gear. The rope is made up of more than 40% castor oil-based material, a raw material sourced from renewable components. By using this renewable resource, we significantly reduce (1R) the consumption of fossil raw materials and demonstrate that the use of polyamide from renewable raw materials is also possible in the manufacture of personal protective equipment.
