More than just a deluxe OD808 upgrade the Maxon OD-820 Overdrive Pro Pedal is essentially hot-rodded for superior performance. The internal voltage doubler allows the pedal to operate at 18V which bumps up the clean headroom and provides a fuller frequency response than the typical 808 circuit; no characteristic mid-hump! This gives the pedal the transparent feel that many TS-variants lack and bolster its versatility as it can go from subtle clean overdrive to full-blown thick distortion. The clever bit is that even though the pedal operates on 18V it is still powered by a standard 9V battery or power supply so is super easy to add to any existing pedalboard or setup.
