Performance is improved by the use of a stainless steel/alloy 3-layer sandwich which promotes faster heat dissipation, this leads to better, more consistent braking and reduces instances of brake fade. The sandwich construction can reduce surface temperatures by up to 50°C which also means that pad temperatures are lower too, meaning a longer life and less squeal. Shimano’s Center Lock system is simple to install and provides a secure, solid base for the rotor and the forged alloy spider which increases rigidity and reduces weight.
