The Yamaha Bobby Shew Flugel Horn Mouthpiece offers an excellent warm tone and a wide expressive dynamic range - and is ideally suited for playing jazz. A deep cup depth and large rim diameter offers a fat warm tone whilst the medium-small throat delivers slightly more blowing resistance leading to a crisp and powerful response throughout the range of the instrument. The semi-flat rim shape makes for a more comfortable playing experience - especially during long sessions. This mouthpiece from the Yamaha Signature Series has been produced in collaboration with American jazz royalty Bobby Shew. Mr. Shew has been active on the scene since the 1960s having played horn with the Woody Herman and Buddy Rich big bands. Noted for his fluid and instinctive improvisational style Bobby sought a flugel horn mouthpiece with slick playability and gutsy projection. His unique input paired with the knowhow of Yamahas best brass engineers has resulted in a trumpet mouthpiece perfectly suited to playing jazz.
