Rustins, Strypit Paint and Varnish Remover is a powerful non caustic paint remover for removing multiple coats of paint, varnish, cellulose, emulsion, french polish and lacquer from wood, glass metal and plaster. Directions for use:1. Use appropriate personal protection including gloves and eye protection. 2. Shake the tin well and remove the cap, ensuring the tin is well away from your face. 3. Apply liberally using a dabbing action and allow to penetrate until the paint begins to soften or blister. This is usually between 5 to 10 minutes. Test with a stripping knife or scraper. 4. Apply a second coat in the same way, making sure it has worked into the blisters or softened paint. Leave for a further 35-40 minutes. 5. Remove the plaint with a stripping knife or scraper and if any paint or varnish remains, repeat the process. Use steel wool to remove paint from curved surfaces. 6. Thoroughly wash down the surface with water and allow to fully dry. On wood, white spirit can be used to wash down to avoid raising the grain. On old paint or a heavy application of paint, Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Remover can be left on for a longer time to maximise penetration. The approximate rate of coverage is 2 square meters per litre.
