Nikwax Tent and Gear SolarProof adds DWR, increases fabric strength & protects against UV deterioration. One application can double the effective life of fabrics, by protecting against UV damage, while also providing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) to keep the rain out. It can be applied to wet or dry synthetic fabrics_ Synthetic fabrics used for tents and rucksacks are coated with a water repellent treatment. Ultraviolet light both destroys the water repellency and reduces the fabric's tear strength, significantly shortening the lifespan of equipment._ To most effectively benefit from the UV and DWR protection of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof, it's best applied to new equipment._ Over time the DWR will wear off through use. Both the DWR and UV protection can be replenished by reapplication of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof.
