The UN certification requirement is to UN standard Group II for transporting flammable liquids, but the cans surpassed this during testing and were approved to Group 1 which relates to transportation of dangerous liquids and chemicals. Each can is also embossed with a unique UN number for traceability. The storage and transportation of flammable liquids for domestic and commercial purposes are covered by extensive government legislation (The Petroleum Consolidation Regulations 2014) (PCR). The Jerry cans comply with all the requirements of these legislation. Note – This regulation limits the storage of fuel in a portable container to a maximum of 20 litres in metal containers or 10 litres in plastic containers.
