Cat 6 stranded cabling is used for a making your own cables. Cut to the exact length you require and attach to crimp end connectors to produce your cable.
CONNEkT GEAR Cat 6 Drums are secured in a strong & durable box featuring a fast feed outlet for ease of use. Printed along the cable length is a 1M indicator to assist with installation & help reduce waste.
- RJ45 CAT 6: Transfers data at the speed of up to 1 Gigabits per second (Gbps) - 250mhz frequency
- UTP: Short for Unshielded Twisted Pair. The inner cable consists of two unshielded wires twisted around each other our CAT 6 cables are 8 core with 4 pairs of twisted wire
- 24AWG: Short for Average Wire Gauge. The relates to the thickness of the wires within the cable the thicker the wires the more room for data to run through the cable. NOTE The thicker the wire the lower the AWG figure
- LSZH (LS0H): Short for low smoke zero halogen
- The low smoke aspect means in the event of a fire the cables will melt rather than burn. A clear smoke is emitted instead of a very dangerous black smoke
- The Zero Halogen aspect means most network cables are made with plastic containing Chlorine. In a fire a halogen-containing plastic material releases a poisonous gas that forms hydrochloric acid when it comes in contact with water. Chlorine -free cables do not produce dangerous gases or acids. This specification of cable would be required for environments such as Schools Government buildings MOD etc
