Lamberts Pycnogenol is an extract from the bark of the Maritime Pine. Proanthocyanidins, a subgroup of plant compounds in the flavonoid family, are the key component of Pycnogenol. They are present in high concentrations in red wine, grapes, cocoa, blueberries and apples. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps counteract free radicals that continually attack our cells. It also works by recycling and regenerating vitamins C and E, to expand the antioxidant activity of these vitamins. It has the ability to inhibit the production of histamine produced by exposing us to an allergen.
