Merlin has been at the forefront of material sourcing and control processes for many years now, and found the process of transitioning to new prEN17092 standard for CE compliance straightforward.The Jacket has a Reissa Active waterproof/breathable membrane and fixed mesh lining. Reissa is a microporous hydrophilic polyurethane membrane which absorbs the water vapour and removes it through the clothing to the outside, allowing to be waterproof, windproof but also breathable. There is also added ventilation on the front and back so that an increased level of airflow can reach the rider, along with a 150g removable thermal lining for improved warmth.For protection, the Barton II Jacket from Merlin has D30 shoulder and elbow protectors pre-fitted (CE compliance to EN1621-1:2012), and there is a pocket for a back protector to be added if required (D30 bought separately).
