Halley Stevensons are the world's leading waxed cotton fabric innovators, manufacturers and suppliers of specialist weatherproofed canvas. They create outdoor fashion apparel fabric and quality luggage canvas at their Baltic Works plant in Dundee, Scotland, UK, and have been established since 1864. The first patent was awarded to the brand in 1910 for 'cleaning and waterproofing textiles', and now with over 150 years of experience they are able to create many thousands of meters of waxed cotton every year, with each roll produced to custom specifications. Merlin has been at the forefront of material sourcing and control processes for many years now, and found the process of transitioning to new prEN17092 standard for CE compliance straightforward.This Jacket has a Reissa Active membrane which is both waterproof and breathable for all-weather performance. Reissa is a microporous hydrophilic polyurethane membrane which absorbs the water vapour and removes it through the clothing to the outside, allowing to be waterproof, windproof but also breathable. There is also a 150g removable thermal lining for additional warm, and a fixed mesh inner lining for comfort. The Jacket also features ventilation on the front and rear for cooling airflow to pass through and reach the rider.For protection, the Barton II Jacket from Merlin has D30 shoulder and elbow protectors pre-fitted (CE compliance to EN1621-1:2012), and there is a pocket for a back protector to be added if required (D30 bought separately).
