The design comes from the Swedish design pioneer Greta Magnusson Grossman and was already presented in 1947. Greta Magnusson Grossman (1906-1999) studied at the renowned Stockholm art school Konstfack and opened her own studio - a combination of shop and workshop - in 1933. After marrying jazz musician Billy Grossman, she moved to California in 1940 and opened a shop on Los Angeles' famous Rodeo Drive, becoming one of the first to bring modern Scandinavian style to North America. Prominent artists of the time such as Joan Fontaine, Greta Garbo, Frank Sinatra and Ingrid Bergman were among her customers. The Danish brand manufacturer Gubi is a leader in design and interior decoration: Founded in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen, the company operates worldwide and produces high-quality designer furniture and lighting.
