She recalled the American city with its distinctive balconies and iron fire escapes, which adorn the tall red-brick buildings in the bohemian neighbourhoods, before crossing the East River via the Brooklyn Bridge, where she found the inspiration for Mobil. A bohemian flair permeates the design, and just as Monika Mulder intended, the lamp possesses an elegance that a New York loft truly deserves – yet it looks just as stunning in simple, traditional Scandinavian homes.
