A classic reborn, this breathtaking Longines Heritage Skin Diver watch honours the first dive watch ever released from Longines in 1959, the Nautilus Skin Diver. It’s large case and black Bakelite diving bezel made it a huge hit with both amateur and professional divers. Today, the new Longines Heritage Skin Diver watch does its best to tribute its predecessor with an almost identical design alongside some improved contemporary advancements/ Coming in fairly large on the wrist at 42mm in diameter and 13.75mm height, the Longines Heritage Skin Diver watch still sits comfortably on the wrist thanks to the curved lugs and vintage-inspired brown calfskin leather strap. Housed within the 300 metre water resistant case and hidden behind the screw down case back decorated with an embossed image of a diver is the L888 automatic winding movement. The Swiss calibre provides a power reserve of 64 hours and central hands for hours, minutes and seconds treated with beige coloured Superluminova. The large painted Arabic numerals are also luminous and stand out beautifully against the smooth black metal dial protected beneath scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass. Like the original Nautilus Skin Diver, the black unidirectional turning bezel provides one final touch of functionality with a 60 minute scale suited for diving.
