A replica of the famous Rado DiaStar watch first launched in 1962, a design which marked the beginning of a new era for the luxury watch manufacturer as the first scratch-resistant Rado watch, this Rado DiaStar The Original features all the familiar features and functions as its historic predecessor with new modern-made Swiss automatic movement. Just like the original, this Rado DiaStar Mens watch features a unique oblong-shaped case framing a round dial with a shield-like expanse of metal surrounding it. The metal in use is yellow gold CVD coated hardmetal allowing the scratch resistant case to sit on the wrist at 35 mm in diameter and 11.9mm in height. At the centre, the Rado DiaStar The Original Quartz watch boasts a stunning purple patterned dial with contrasting gold hands for the hours, minutes and seconds and 11 faceted gold indices for the hour markers. For easy legibility, the hour and minute hands and indexes are adorned with an insert of glow in the dark Superluminova while the day window contrasts to its backdrop in white and the date is outlined in black. Powering each of these functions is a Swiss made automatic winding movement with a power reserve of 80 hours kept hidden and protected behind a closed case back water resistant to 100 metres. To secure the Rado men’s watch to the wrist, the case is fitted with a matching yellow gold three-row link bracelet and a classic folding buckle.
