Designed at the beginning of the Second World War, the Crusader was one of the most important English "Cruiser" wagons reaching a production of more than 5,000 pieces. Equipped with Christie suspension with large diameter rolling wheels the Crusader possessed considerable gear on rough terrain. The first versions Mk. I and Mk. II were armed with a cannon 2 pdr. later replaced by the most powerful 6 pdr cannon. in version Mk.III. Without adequate armors against the opposing shot he was also very vulnerable to the opposing mines and anti-tank guns, and his armament often turned out to be inadequate in front of similar German vehicles. However, when used in a coordinated way, they managed to achieve good results.
