Fabulous serum containing a perfectly balanced mix of 3 exfoliating acids. The 3 acids in the formula are capable of eliminating dead skin cells, thinning the stratum corneum, eliminating pigmented corneocytes, and balancing excess sebum. New cells in the dermis are drawn to the surface for a "new skin" effect.The three acids present are: glycolic acid, which is derived from natural sources like fruit, beetroot, and sugarcane. Its action is related to its ability to reduce the cohesion forces between corneocytes through direct action on desmosomes. Exfoliation of the upper epidermis and the resulting increase in the cell turnover rate stimulates fibroblast activity and the production of collagen and elastin. Urea, an amide of carbamic acid, is known for its moisturizing and softening properties. Naturally present in healthy skin, as it helps restore the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF). It is primarily used to replenish this NMF factor in more dehydrated skin, allowing the stratum corneum to retain more water. Urea has keratolytic properties, as it promotes the shedding of superficial dead cells, thus aiding skin regeneration and leaving the skin soft and smooth. It is also used to stimulate skin regeneration and restore the skin's "barrier" functions. Equally important is its action as a factor that increases the penetration of certain active ingredients into the deeper skin layers. Malic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid particularly abundant in apples) and tartaric acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid particularly abundant in grapes and tamarind) have excellent keratolytic activity. Their acantholytic action reduces adhesion between corneocytes and thins the stratum corneum, making it easier to eliminate pigmented corneocytes and enhance skin brightness. They also exert comedolytic activity, aiding in the drainage of cysts and microcysts.This unique mix, combined with other amazing active ingredients like sucrose and pollen extract, restores the skin's natural hydration and promotes skin regeneration, all without irritating the skin, but helping to leave it smoother, firmer, more radiant, and with an even complexion.
