As soon as the integrated light source is switched on, the interplay between light and shadow intensifies even further, as the artificial light experiences a multitude of reflections in the frame. A innovative Slamp patented material was used for this purpose. This innovative material, a polymer made of durable polycarbonate, was registered under the name Steelflex®. The polycarbonate was subjected to holistic metallization using aluminium vapour so that the finished material combines the best of two worlds: On the one hand, it is very durable and unbreakable, and on the other, the reflective surface is altogether aesthetically pleasing.
