Patricia Urquiola let herself be inspired by the East when she sat down to design Tatou S2 in White. The strength, flexibility, lightness and resistance of the lamp are all inspired by antique Japanese armour. This lamp provides a harmonic interplay between light and shadow, helped by the perforated pattern of the shade. The fixture consists of four identical elements bound together as a dome, which creates upward- and downward-facing light, but still allows for the passage of light through the dome itself. That means that the lamp provides direct downward-facing light without compromising on the diffuse and comfortable glow that is expected of most lamps.
