Magnetic drilling machines

— machines that do not have their own support and are designed to be regularly carried from place to place. In this case, fixing during operation is carried out using a magnetic sole. The force of attraction of electromagnets in such soles is measured in tens of kilonewtons, which is more than enough reliable installation; some models are able to work even on vertical surfaces, hanging on them "sideways". Anyway, magnetic machines are indispensable for working with very large parts that cannot be laid on the base plate of a vertical or radial unit; such units can be used directly on building frames, ship hulls, etc. Their main disadvantage is, in fact, the impossibility of working on non-magnetic materials; in addition, the layer of magnetic material must be quite thick, otherwise the unit will not be able to be securely fixed.
