Protection against external magnetic influence

— special protection against external magnetic fields. Such fields (primarily from various electrical appliances) can adversely affect the accuracy of the readings, or even disable the metre altogether; to avoid this, such protection is provided. Among other things, it greatly facilitates the choice of installation location: you don’t have to worry too much about the other devices, and you should avoid only the most powerful sources of electromagnetic radiation (such as electric motors).
