Waterproof hoverboards
Dustproof, waterproof
— the presence of a dust and waterproof housing in the design of the device. Any case provides some degree of protection against dust and moisture, but this feature is only indicated for IP-certified models that meet fairly high levels of protection.A specific level is marked with the letters IP and two numbers. The first of these means resistance to dust; “protected” is a body of the hoverboard that meets a minimum level of 5 (dust can enter, but does not affect the operation of the unit). There are also hoverboards completely closed from dust (level 6). The second digit indicates the level of protection against moisture; this parameter, in this case, can correspond to level 4 (resistance to splashes from any direction), 5 (resistance to water jets) or 6 (resistance to strong water jets and waves); more advanced indicators for several reasons are not found.
Note that even with decent numbers in the marking, the unit may have certain weather restrictions — for example, do not allow use in the rain, although formally the level of protection seems to allow this. Therefore, if you plan to use transport in high humidity conditions, you should not only choose a protected model but carefully read the instructions.
