Amorphous (thin film) solar panels
— amorphous silicon thin-film modules use substances that consist of thin silicon layers (about 100 times smaller than crystalline silicon), which allows them to be flexible and retain their functions. Amorphous panels are a thin transparent film. Such panels are inferior to crystalline counterparts only in terms of efficiency (in the region of 7-12%) and durability. However, they capture ambient light better on cloudy days and lose less power as the surface heats up. However, thin-film solar panels are inexpensive.
