Elastic bandages

— bandages made of dense fabric capable of stretching to a certain length. They are used as orthopedic aids — to fix a certain area of the upper or lower limb, to create pressure on it and reduce the load. In medicine, elastic bandages are used, in particular, for varicose veins, chronic inflammation of blood vessels, for the prevention of thrombophlebitis and thrombosis, in rehabilitation after surgery on blood vessels, after fractures, dislocations and other injuries, as well as first aid for mild sprains. Another field of use of such products is sports: elastic bandages reduce the risk of injuries and sprains during intensive loads on certain joints.

It should be noted that elastic bandages can have different levels of stretch — low, medium and high. Recommendations on optimal stretchability for sports use can be found in special sources, although it is best to consult a specialist; for medical purposes, elastic bandages can be used only if a doctor prescribes them.
