The key difference between such a mod and a varivolt (see the relevant paragraph) is that the variwatt independently adjusts the output voltage depending on the resistance of the atomizer — so that the power supply always remains at the level set by the user. This is very convenient when replacing coils, as well as when working with custom windings: the heating intensity will remain unchanged. However and variatty are not cheap.
