Laminate

— floor covering based on high-density fibreboard or chipboard with a decorative protective film on the surface. Usually consists of four layers: a transparent resin that covers the surface from above, a decorative layer, fiberboard or chipboard, a moisture-resistant bottom layer. In general, such a coating is considered to be more budgetary than parquet and parquet board: the laminate has a smaller thickness and, in general, lower wear resistance, however, it is cheaper. It is also worth noting that the appearance of such a coating can imitate both wood and other materials — for example, stone.
