Pentaphthalic enamels

Pentaphthalic

— a kind of base used exclusively in enamels (see "Type"). In fact, it is one of the varieties of the alkyd base (see the relevant paragraph). At the same time, one of the features of pentaphthalic enamels is the prevalence and popularity in both domestic and professional use. This type of base allows you to create materials with different properties, including high weather resistance, allowing outdoor use even in difficult climatic conditions.

From a chemical point of view, the pentaphthalic base combines thick resin, solvent, glycerin, vegetable oils and rosin. Compared to another variety of alkyd bases — glyphthalic — this composition has a higher curing rate during cold drying, although, on the contrary, it takes much longer to dry completely.
