Hammer paints
Hammer
— hammer effect refers to a special "shagreen" texture of paints or enamels (see "Type"). Visually, the resulting texture resembles a surface that has been hit with a hammer - hence the name. The decorative pattern of such paint often contains small craters and a characteristic "web". Hammer paint is most often used to paint forged items, metal doors, various industrial equipment, electrical appliance and safe housings, metal structures, etc. Hammer paints and enamels effectively hide minor surface defects, protect them from oxidation and subsequent corrosion, are water- and wear-resistant, and resistant to temperature fluctuations.Show
