Crown
— cutting tool in the form of a cylinder with teeth on the edge. When rotated, the crown cuts a groove in the workpiece in the shape of a circle. Such a tool is used as an alternative to drills when preparing holes and recesses of large diameter, on the order of several centimeters: drills of this thickness would be too heavy, bulky and would require a very powerful tool, and cutting an annular groove with a crown does not require special power. It is in this way that, in particular, sockets for sockets and switches are made in the walls (although, of course, the use of crowns is not limited to this).Show
