Thermostatic valve

— shut down valve or three-way valve (see the relevant paragraph) with a built-in thermostat — a device for automatic temperature control. Such devices are mainly used in heating systems. The thermostat monitors the air temperature in the room, and when it rises to a predetermined level, the sensitive element in the thermostat expands and blocks the flow of the coolant. And when the temperature drops, the sensing element shrinks and opens the water flow.

Usually, the thermostat can be adjusted, which allows you to choose the optimal room temperature. In addition, an important advantage of such valves is that they provide heat savings.
