Thermostats with remote sensor
Remote sensor
— the presence of a remote sensor in the delivery set of the radiator thermostat. In conventional models, without remote sensors, the temperature sensor is built directly into the thermostat. Thus, it monitors the temperature change directly at its instalation— and this is not always the best option, since the temperature in the rest of the room can differ markedly. For example, when located in a cramped niche with poor air circulation, the built-in sensor may give overestimated readings; and in underfloor heating systems, in general, it is necessary to monitor not the air temperature, but the temperature of the floor. The remote sensor solves this problem: it can be placed at a certain distance from the thermostat, in an optimal place for measurements.
Note that such sensors are usually connected by wire — more precisely, using a capillary tube with liquid. It gives certain range restrictions, but most often there are no problems with finding the optimal location for the sensor.
