Table clock quartz
— the action of this mechanism is based on the operation of a quartz oscillator, which produces a certain number of oscillations per second. The generator needs power supply — accordingly, such watches cannot work without batteries; this is their main disadvantage. At the same time, "quartz" is very economical, and in most of these watches, the battery life is calculated in months. At the same time, this option is noticeably superior to the “mechanics” in terms of accuracy (at a lower cost) and can be used with both arrow and digital dials (in everyday life, the term “quartz” often refers only to watches with arrows, but this is not entirely correct). Yes, and periodically changing the battery, usually, is easier than winding the watch every few days. All these advantages have led to the fact that most modern table clocks use quartz movements.
