Mechanical table clock
— a mechanical watch is a watch that uses a special spring as a power source: it is compressed during winding, and gradually straightens during operation, providing the watch with the mechanical energy necessary for operation. This option, unlike quartz, does not require batteries — it is enough to wind the watch regularly. At the same time, the winding process itself requires discipline (so that the watch does not stop), and in most cases a separate key is used for this, which can be lost. Also, the “mechanics” loses to the “quartz” in terms of accuracy, is poorly suited for the implementation of additional functions, but costs, with all this, much more expensive. As a result, this option is not particularly popular today and is rare — mainly among designer and souvenir watches, where the mechanical design is exclusively a tribute to tradition (and sometimes a key design element).
