Tankless electric water heaters
Tankless electric water heater
— these are tankless water heaters powered by electricity.Tankless heaters, unlike storage ones, do not have storage tanks: water is heated directly in the process of passing through the device. This gives several advantages: the supply of hot water is, in fact, unlimited, and the heater itself is light and compact; some models of this type are generally made in the form of taps(see "instant tap"). On the other hand, with tankless heating it is rather difficult to achieve a stable temperature: with an increase in pressure, the heating efficiency drops, because water passes through the heating element faster. In addition, such devices are usually not able to serve more than one draw-off point.
Specifically, tankless electric water heaters are much easier and safer to connect and operate than gas water heaters, they can provide additional adjustments, and electricity is somewhat cheaper than gas — especially when using multi-tariff metres. On the other hand, for effective tankless heating, a rather high power is required, and most of these models consume 3 kW or more. With such consumption, a special connection (directly to the electric switchboard) or even a three-phase power supply of 400 V may be required; and the power grid must be of sufficient quality to normally carry such loads.
